Recently sold from Los Angeles Gallery of Art: "Dragon" Oil on Panel
This personal portrait by contemporary artist K.L. Britton has now found a permanent home in a personal collection.  Visit http://klbritton.com to see more of Britton's striking oil paintings.

"Dragon" is a rich and dark piece.  This chiaroscuro old master style painting was created to capture the essence and emotion of the model, who wears a traditional QiPao dress.  The red is auspicious in many Eastern cultures.  K.L. Britton wanted something that grabbed the viewer, and let them contemplate what passions were behind the sitter in the painting.  The drama and mystery are captured by visible strokes on the smooth panel.
